Public Works is responsible for construction, maintenance, and oversight of the City’s infrastructure, as well as a wide range of public services.

Public Works Services

  • Management of the City’s capital improvement programs
  • Maintenance of many municipal facilities
  • Development review and inspection 
  • Mobility management, including traffic, parking, and biking
  • Street improvements and maintenance
  • Sewer management and maintenance, including stormwater
  • Refuse and recycling collection and disposal
  • Sustainability implementation
  • Utility management and permitting
  • Urban forest management
  • Graffiti abatement

Administration

Public Works Administration coordinates all department divisions and oversees all department projects, programs, services, and budgeting. Administration also directly manages special programs and projects, as well as projects for other divisions.

Maintenance Operations

Gary Wansley - Maintenance Operations Manager

Maintenance Operations is responsible for maintaining public infrastructure assets. Services include:

  • Municipal facility maintenance and improvement management
  • Graffiti removal
  • Sewer maintenance
  • Street and sidewalk maintenance and improvements
  • Urban Forest management
  • Street light maintenance
  • Traffic signs and signal maintenance
  • Parking meter maintenance
