Culver City Symphony Orchestra 60th Anniversary Celebration

Culver City Symphony Orchestra

Please join us for a 60th Anniversary Celebration concert by the Culver City Symphony Orchestra featuring:

  • Suite for Strings by Arcangelo Corelli, which opened our first concert in 1965
  • Danzas de Panama by William Grant Still. This was the first of many pieces by Still, who was a friend of our founder George Berres, to be performed by the Orchestra, and Dr. Still attended the 1966 performance.
  • Dream Grotto by George Beresowsky who, as George Berres, was our founder and first Music Director.
  • Symphony No. 2 by Johannes Brahms, one of the masterpieces of Romantic symphonic music.

Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of our first concert (on March 1, 1965) - this free concert at the Frost auditorium will celebrate the musical history of our Orchestra.

This performance is made possible in part by the City of Culver City and its Cultural Affairs Commission, with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment.
