The City of Culver City released the latest numbers in the Residential Pipeline and Commercial Pipeline Development Reports. These online reports, which are updated monthly, provides residents and stakeholders with an up-to-date, transparent view of housing and commercial projects currently under development review. It also details key information on each project, including its type, status, and the number of units, with a breakdown of affordable versus market-rate housing units.
The latest numbers show the pipeline includes 36 active residential projects across the City, totaling 4,280 units, of which 614 are designated as affordable housing. This month's report showed a 14 unit increase since the last update. This exceeds the City’s total Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA) obligation, which requires planning for 3,341 new housing units by 2029. The new reporting underscores Culver City's ongoing commitment to addressing the growing demand for housing while ensuring equitable access to affordable living options. You can view the complete residential report on the City's website.
In the commercial pipeline report, there are 16 active projects in various stages of development, totaling 528,560 square feet. Eight of the projects are mixed-use, one project is a hotel, six are office space, as well as one restaurant/retail project, and a mixed use/church project. The recently approved General Plan and Zoning Code is designed to streamline the development process and support the city’s growth. These updates are part of Culver City's continued effort to create a balanced mix of housing opportunities to meet the needs of its diverse population.
