Street Eyes

Street Eyes

Street Eyes is an original artwork that also serves a necessary function for the site. The design concept was inspired by the computer industry and the Internet. The horizontal lines connecting to circular disks represent the function of "networking" and the grids on each of the gate's panels represent computer chips.

Street Eyes is John Okulick's third commission for Culver City's public art program. His two other installations are Water Tower (2000) and Sentry (1999). Mr. Okulick's work is also included in the City of Pasadena's (Three Moons, 1993) and the City of Los Angeles's Vents, 1990) public art programs.
