The Planning Commission is pleased to invite your participation in a Public Hearing concerning the following:

WHO:      Shao-Yi Qian (Applicant) - Purple Magpie Mandarin

WHAT:     Request for Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the conversion of an existing commercial building to a child daycare center and private school use within the Mixed Use 1 (MU-1) Zone and Mixed Use Corridor 1 General Plan Designation. (Case No. P2024-0269-CUP).

WHEN:    Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 7 PM

WHY:       The purpose of the Public Hearing is for the Planning Commission to review and to receive public input on the proposed Site Plan Review and Administrative Modification and consider approval of the request.

CEQA:     The proposed Project is considered exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant Section 15303, Class 3 – Conversion of Small Structures Project because the project occurs within city limits on an existing commercial building that is a conversion from one use to another with minor exterior modifications in an urban area less than 10,000 square feet.

The Planning Commission Agenda and Project staff report are available for viewing at City Hall and online no later than 72 hours prior to the meeting date and time.
