Application for a Dumpster, POD or a Moving Truck Permit

Need to apply to place a dumpster or POD in front of your property?  Need a permit for a moving truck?  This is the right place.

Step 1.Verify your Location

You will need to confirm the property and parking space(s) are within Culver City’s jurisdiction.

Using the Culver City Property Information Search map, search for your address or location.

Ensure that your location is within the city boundaries.

Step 2.Gather your information

  • Building or Engineering Permit number if requesting a dumpster permit for 60 days.
  • Size of POD if requesting a POD permit.
  • Size of moving truck if requesting a moving truck permit.
  • Property Owner Information if applicable.
  • Contractor Information if applicable.
  • Agent Information if applicable.

Step 3.Apply Online

Please complete the Reserve Parking Space application online based on your needs (contractor/dumpster/moving truck/POD).

Step 4.Application Review

Once you have applied for your permit on the Permit Portal, the Engineering and Traffic and Mobility Divisions will review the application within 5 business days. If your application needs more information, or is not approved, you will receive a notification via email with an explanation.

Step 5.Pay for your Permit

Permit fees must be paid prior to issuance. You will receive an email notification once your permit has been approved and is ready for payment. 

After you have paid your permit fees, please send a notification of payment to engineering@culvercity.org referencing your permit number.

Step 6.Pick up the No Parking Signs

After your permit has been issued, you will need to pick up the NO PARKING signs from City Hall located at 9770 Culver Blvd, 2nd Floor &ndash Engineering.

The NO PARKING signs must be posted at least 48 hours in advance of parking restriction(s).

The permit will include instructions on how to post the signs and how Parking Enforcement should be notified.

Step 2.Fill out the Application at the Public Works Engineering Division counter.

Step 3.Pay for your Permit and Receive the No Parking Signs
