What is the cost of Certification?
The program is free but space is limited each year to the first 15 businesses that sign up.
Investment or retrofit costs are unique for each business. A sustainability expert will discuss anticipated costs along with rebates or incentive options.
How long does it typically take to achieve the Certification?
The amount of time for a business to achieve certification varies depending on several factors, such as how many green practices are already in place, the size of the facility, and how committed the business is to making the required changes quickly.
A business that has many green measures already in place usually achieves the Certification criteria within three months. A facility requiring comprehensive changes or fixture upgrades can take up to six months.
A sustainability expert helps guide each business through the entire process.
How long is the Certification valid?
Once a business fulfills all the criteria and are officially recognized by the Program Coordinator, the business is certified for a three year period from that date.
Certified businesses will receive a notification email reminder three months before they are due for renewal.
