Effective homeless outreach develops relationships and trust with people experiencing homelessness to connect them with housing, medical care, and other support services. In June 2024, the Culver City Council expanded and enhanced the provision of homeless outreach through the introduction of the Urban Alchemy (UA) Community Engagement and Outreach (CEO) Team. The CEO Team supplements the City’s Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) to provide the homeless outreach services from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, seven days a week. This four-person CEO Team dispatches from Wellness Village to places where unhoused individuals are known to locate. The CEO Team is able to assess, transport, and directly enroll unhoused persons who agree to interim (temporary) housing services through the City’s Motel Master Leasing and Nutrition Program or Wellness Village.
Culver City is undergoing the process of finalizing their contract agreement with new outreach service provider, Urban Alchemy. The Mobile Crisis Team has been providing interim homeless outreach services for July 2024 - September 2024. For Quarter 1 of fiscal year 2024-2024 (July 2024 - September 2024), the only homeless outreach dashboard metrics that have been updated are Persons Contacted, Service Acceptance Rate, Mental Health Assessments, and Interim Placements. All other dashboard metrics have remained the same.
Data has been updated as of September 30, 2024.
